Two of the little doves we have been feeding in our back yard year round. We feed the little things every morning and we have lots of sparrows and usually from 8 to 20 doves and a few cardinals and other kinds. We really enjoy having them in our back yard and among the trees.
Yesterday we saw some little mud martins (barn swallows, chimney sweeps) flying back south to their winter home. They made a visit through our yard and we wish they would mark our property some way and come and settle down here next spring. Maybe they will.
Our attic burned in 2001 and we had to move about a block away on the same street. We had lots of the little mud martins under our carport but they didn't follow us to this location and I think that because we moved off and left them, they are holding a grudge. We have seen hundreds of them make homes under underpasses on our highways within 20 miles from here. We don't want that many...but wish about a dozen would stop here first.
In another bowl combine dry ingredients and gradually mix into egg mixture.Mix in prunes, apples and nuts at low speed to blend thoroughly. Spoon into buttered bundt pan and bake at 325 ° for 1 hour and 30 min. until springy to touch. Cool in pan for 10 minutes and turn out of serving plate and dust with powdered sugar. Makes 12-14 servings.
This picture of tree is on my great grandfather's land in Callahan County down close to Abilene, Texas. Sent to me by my cousin, Faye, whom I met on the internet through tracing our family tree.
Twin Okra...joined at the hip. LOL The toothpaste is just there to show how small the okra is...are.
Some things just don't grow up straight including okra and trees. When they don't grow up normal, they get twisted and turned. This tree grew up from the ground...not knowing which way to grow. So it grew up in three or four different directions.
Some children have and are...growing up this way too. They are not being trained in the right way and when they grow up...some spend many years trying to 'find themselves'.
This tree has a good reason to be this way...it is a Mesquite tree. They are all like that from what I understand, (see the other ones in the background) so...they have a good excuse.
Your fist can only go as far as my nose...but your words...Oohhhhh...they can go in all directions. They can go forward just like a sword...right into my heart. They can go upward...God can hear them. They can go sideways...depending upon who else was standing by and heard them and were also hurt because of them. They can go downward and cause turmoil and stress in the very bowels of my being. They can go backward and come forward from my past...to haunt me in my future. Your words and mine...they can be very, very powerful!
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
